we really love what we do

we are dedicated and commited to making a difference in the life of a sick child!

The Philosophy

The philosophy of Michael Fux Family Centers is to provide a safe, nonclinical environment for the families of children receiving care and to offer peace and respite. We hope to provide dedicated space for parents, patients, and siblings to interact with each other as a family, despite the medical challenges faced by their child.

The Michael Fux Foundation believes – and urges others to believe – that empathetic and enduring relationships are our society’s most essential form of wealth. When caring for a sick child creating strong bonds between the child, families, care givers and other familes is paramount. This conviction stems from the understanding that at some point in each of our lives we have all felt alone. Creating a empatheic and enduring community is the focus of the Michael Fux Family Centers.

The Michael Fux Foundation believes that, by cultivating a community that is focused on the long term care of the child and their families, a community that transcend racial and socioeconomic barriers – and by creatively building unconventional families and communities through its centers – we can overcome the challenges and, the isolation, that familes who care for a sick child experience. The Micahel Fux Foundations Family Centers focus on the wel-being of the child and their family while buidling a wealth of human connection permanently linked by unconditional love and support.

The Michael Fux Family Center is without a doubt the perfect addition to an already stellar hospital. To be greeted with a smile and welcomed so warmly while facing life's challenges is an amazing experience. Keep up the great job you all do here. Your staff and volunteers are simply amazing. Thank you all!

Our History

In January 2006, businessman Michael Fux created The Michael Fux Foundation (MFF)

In January 2006, businessman Michael Fux created The Michael Fux Foundation (MFF). His mission is to enrich the lives of children stricken with serious illnesses by creating programs that will provide assistance and support to the children and their families.

The Foundation hosts an Annual Holiday Party for children with serious illnesses that are being treated at Miami Children’s Hospital. The children and their families get to enjoy a fun-filled day with music and carnival games where each child is granted their greatest holiday wishes. Provides support and optimism for families that are working to overcome the hardships associated with caring for a sick child.

I am so impressed with how well thought out this center is. My son "frequented" MCH in 2006-2007 and I can see how this center would act as an escape from the grind families are currently going through with a tough medical situation. The movie theater is amazing. The washing machine is very needed for extended stay families. Everyone involved in this project should be proud. Thank you!

Values

The members of our communities include healthcare professionals, children, families and administrators that embrace the values of the Michael Fux Foundation.

  • Family: Family centers with strong personal bonds that create a safe, supportive, and loving atmosphere for their children.
  • Endless Hope: No child or family should go through their illness and treatment alone.
  • Adaptability: There is not a formula to solve every problem. Even custom solutions need continual adjustments.

I am truly speechless by how friendly and helpful the staff is in the Family Center. The resources offered in the Family Center are incredible and I cannot even imagine what an impact it must have on each of the patients and families who walk through the center's doors. This is a beautiful place and I am grateful to those who made this Family Center possible.
