The Michael Fux Foundation was created to provide assistance to ill and underprivileged children around the world. We strive to make a positive impact, to give joy and smiles to the lives of children and their families who are struggling with serious illnesses.

The Foundation supports individuals, programs, and organizations that truly enrich the lives of the impoverished by:

• Providing practical and emotional support to seriously ill children, young people and their families, enabling them to be with thier child and live life as if they were in their own home.
• Funding projects and research to ensure parents, carers and those who work in the children’s healthcare sector are better equipped to provide support to children and the families with long term, complex healthcare needs.
• Influencing the future of health, education and social care policy to ensure it meets the needs of families of seriously ill children and young people.

The Michael Fux Family Center is without a doubt the perfect addition to an already stellar hospital. At the Michael Fux Foundation Family Centers we provide emotional and practical support for families who have a seriously ill child. We offer the whole family support 24/7 regardless of diagnosis and for as long as it is needed. Our vision is for all families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness to have access to a facility that is their support so they can support their child in their time of great need.

• We innovate and challenge the status quo whenever we can.
• We foster an environment where creativity thrives. We are not afraid of doing things differently.
• We focus on multiple unmet needs of children who are sick, disadvantaged or live with disabilities and other special needs at a local level.

I am so impressed with how well thought out this center is. My son "frequented" MCH in 2006-2007 and I can see how this center would act as an escape from the grind families are currently going through with a tough medical situation. The movie theater is amazing. The washing machine is very needed for extended stay families. Everyone involved in this project should be proud. Thank you!

We support families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness and are in the greatest need. Our Foundation provides a life line to these families and children. We support the whole family including parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters and grandparents. The Foundation brings support and help to families by providing a nuturing supportive environment for them. Any family can receive support from the moment their child or young person is diagnosed.

Each family is unique, so the support we offer, is different for each one. When a family is told their child has a life threatening or terminal illness, their life is shattered into a million little pieces. The life they lived before, ends in that moment, and they enter a new and unknown world, filled with grief, fear, turmoil and even guilt.

There are many challenges when supporting an critically ill child, our support is flexible and understanding. We support families in whatever way they need help. Our Family Support Workers, work with families to help families cope in extreme and uncertain situations, so that they do not have to cope alone.

I am truly speechless by how friendly and helpful the staff is in the Family Center. The resources offered in the Family Center are incredible and I cannot even imagine what an impact it must have on each of the patients and families who walk through the center's doors. This is a beautiful place and I am grateful to those who made this Family Center possible.

• Founded The Michael Fux Family Center at Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) where families can seek respite from the struggles of daily hospital living. The Center provides amenities to families, such as showers, laundry facilities, a full kitchen and dining area, family room, private breastfeeding room, movie theater, children’s library, computer room, performing arts center, gym and massage therapy room. The Center is designed to make families feel more at home while their children are hospitalized.
• The creation of the second Michael Fux Family Center at the Unterberg Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ is under development. The Center will have all of the same amenities as the original Family Center at MCH. This project has an expected completion date in 2016.
• Funded health professionals and researchers to focus on improving the care of children and young people with long term health conditions.
• Provided substantial research grants for creation and development of: Breast Cancer Research, Operation Smile, Make A Wish Foundation, and many more...
• Invested over $20 million in research into childhood illnesses and conditions, including liver disease, kidney failure, diabetes, cancer, cot death, respiratory disorders, neonatal intensive care, sickle cell anaemia and asthma.
• Sponsored missions to Honduras in support of Operation Smile, a medical charity that performs safe, effective cleft lip and cleft palate surgery to children in developing countries.
• The MFF also supports other charities that provide services for children including Children’s Cancer Caring Center, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Miracle Network, and Overtown Youth Center.

I want to thank you and all the wonderful staff for the great center which helped me as a parent to stay beside my daughter for all this time. The last month, I used the laundry and hair stylist which was amazing. This is a great center and made my stay here much easier! Thank you!
